Seneca County growth plan zeroes in on Willard

Consultants hired to shape Seneca County’s economic future say the region stands out for its untapped potential, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

Representatives from RKG Associates spent last week touring the county and meeting with business leaders, local officials, and development stakeholders. The group is building a long-term economic strategy focused on realistic growth opportunities, infrastructure needs, and redevelopment priorities.

One major focus quickly emerged: the former Willard campus. Local leaders expressed frustration with the state’s slow response on redevelopment plans for the 550-acre property along Seneca Lake. Consultants said Willard, the Seneca Falls Airport, and other major sites will play a central role in the county’s economic roadmap moving forward.
