A late-season surge of big-time pitching performances and clutch hitting headlined Friday across the Wayne-Finger Lakes, with several matchups coming down to the final innings while others were defined by dominant showings in the circle.
Keira Weber turned in one of the night’s standout efforts, striking out 15 while allowing just one hit over five shutout innings as Lyons powered past Williamson, with Elise Wilkinson driving in four runs and finishing with three hits. Geneva leaned on Carmela Mazzocchi’s one-hit, 11-strikeout shutout and a big day from Asiyah Green, who scored four runs and collected three hits in a win over Wayne. Mynderse delivered a statement performance behind a combined two-hit shutout and a 18-run offensive outburst, while Kyah Lajewski drove in four runs and Danielle McDermott, Mercedes Santana, and Haley Young each added three-hit nights. In another strong all-around showing, Waterloo’s Gwen DiIorio struck out 12 while also collecting three hits in a win over Midlakes.
