Ontario County deputies arrest two men in separate Canandaigua-area incidents

Ontario County sheriff’s deputies made two arrests Thursday in separate incidents involving trespassing and larceny investigations in the Canandaigua area.

In the first case, deputies responded around 1:23 p.m. to a suspicious condition complaint at a home on State Route 364 in the Town of Canandaigua, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said a homeowner reported finding an unfamiliar person inside the residence.

Investigators identified the man as 56-year-old David R. Wing of Horseheads. Deputies said the homeowner denied knowing Wing or giving him permission to enter the residence. Wing was taken into custody on a charge of second-degree criminal trespass and transported to the Ontario County Jail to await CAP Court proceedings. Authorities also said Wing is a suspect in a separate burglary investigation and faces charges related to that case as well.

The investigation was led by Deputy Outhouse with assistance from Deputy Herendeen, Deputy Millard, Investigator Labrake and Investigator Brooks-Lambert.

Later Thursday evening, deputies arrested 20-year-old Demone D. McNeal of Southfield, Michigan, following a reported shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Recreation Drive in the Town of Hopewell.

Deputies said McNeal ran from officers when they attempted to approach him during the investigation. Authorities later determined McNeal had previously been banned from all Walmart properties. He was ultimately arrested on charges of trespassing and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Deputies said all stolen property was recovered.

The second investigation was also handled by Deputy Outhouse, with assistance from Deputy Herendeen, Deputy Shanley, Deputy Pulver and Sgt. Herendeen.
