Hotel Canandaigua will host a new lakeside food and music fundraiser later this month featuring barbecue tastings, meat raffles and a live performance by local country artist Claudia Hoyser.
The inaugural Certified Angus Beef Bash, presented by Nolan’s Catering, is scheduled for Sunday, May 31 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the hotel along Canandaigua Lake.
Organizers say the event will benefit The Spot, a nonprofit organization serving students and families in the Canandaigua and Victor school districts through food assistance, school supplies and other support services.
Guests attending the event will be able to sample a range of barbecue-style dishes featuring Certified Angus Beef products supplied by Palmer Food Services. The event will also include live grilling demonstrations and carving stations led by Nolan’s Catering Executive Chef John Palmeri.
A smokehouse station will be operated by Executive Chef Garrette Gray of The Lake House on Canandaigua.
Local musician Claudia Hoyser is scheduled to perform from 1 to 3 p.m.
Organizers also plan to raffle five meat prize packages throughout the afternoon, including themed collections featuring steaks, seafood and grilling assortments. Palmer Food Services will provide insulated take-home bags for raffle winners.
Admission is $20 plus taxes and fees and includes access to all food stations. Alcoholic beverages will be available separately for guests 21 and older, while Scoop’s Ice Cream will offer desserts for additional purchase.
The event is open to all ages.
The Spot currently provides monthly food support to more than 240 students and assists hundreds of local families annually through school supply drives and emergency requests from teachers and social workers.
Nolan’s Catering operates through Nolan’s on Canandaigua Lake, The Fallbrook House at Canandaigua Country Club and Hotel Canandaigua.
