Wayne-Finger Lakes high school sports: May 7 scoreboard

Thursday’s Wayne-Finger Lakes spring sports schedule delivered another wave of explosive offensive performances, milestone moments and dominant efforts in the circle and on the lacrosse field.

In boys lacrosse, Paxton Landon scored five times for Wayne, Fischer Sleeman matched that total for Marcus Whitman, and Braden Fingar piled up four goals and three assists as Penn Yan rolled past Honeoye Falls-Lima.

On the softball diamond, Carmela Mazzocchi recorded her 200th career strikeout for Geneva, Keira Weber racked up 19 strikeouts for Lyons, and Dundee/Bradford swept a doubleheader behind dominant pitching from Morgan Sutryk and Adalyn Tham. Waterloo also got a standout all-around performance from Jill Robinson, while Tangel Williams drove in five runs for the Tigers.

Carmela Mazzocchi allowed just two hits and struck out seven for the Panthers, recording her 200th career strikeout in the process. Kate Good connected on a home run and drove in two runs, while Asiyah Green collected two hits. Faith Cunningham and Ella Chambers each reached base twice and scored a run. For the Red Raiders, Savannah Shaffer and Kaedence Andross each recorded hits.

Jill Robinson tossed a three-hit shutout for the Tigers and also added two hits, two runs and two stolen bases at the plate. Tangel Williams paced the offense with three hits, a double and five RBI, while Alexis Godley went 3-for-3 with a double, three stolen bases and an RBI. Gwen Panek added a double, three runs scored and an RBI for Waterloo. For the Mustangs, Morgan Breuer collected two hits and Nora Murphy added a hit.

The BraveScots erupted for 13 runs in the first inning and finished with 14 walks in the win. Morgan Sutryk and Adalyn Tham combined on a no-hitter, striking out 12 over five innings. Korrin Yeoman and Reese Simpson each collected two hits and two RBI, while Piper Simpson reached base multiple times and drew three walks. Dundee/Bradford also played error-free defense.

Adalyn Tham dominated in the circle for the BraveScots, striking out 10 while allowing just two hits and one run over five innings. Dundee/Bradford broke the game open with a six-run third inning, highlighted by a three-run single from Emily Rosno. Tham and Maddie Knapp each collected two hits, while the BraveScots swiped nine bases and played error-free defense. For the Wildcats, Ella Yerkes went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Keira Weber dominated in the circle for the Lions, striking out 19 while allowing five hits over 6.1 innings. Rylee Richardson delivered the big hit with a bases-clearing triple and finished with three RBI. Lyons totaled 13 hits, with Peyton Bonnell, Elise Wilkinson, Richardson, Addison VanLare and Kamryn Bonnell each recording multiple hits. For the Cougars, Emily Nevlezer collected two hits and Olivia DeBoerdere drove in two runs.
