Seneca Falls museum launching new ‘Sails & Ales’ fundraiser along canal

A new canalside fundraiser featuring Finger Lakes breweries, live music, and local food is coming to Seneca Falls later this month to support the Seneca Falls Museum and Tourism Center.

The organization announced Tuesday that its inaugural “Sails & Ales” event will take place May 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the parking lot behind Fall Street Brewing Co. along the Cayuga-Seneca Canal.

Organizers say the event will bring together several regional breweries, including Fall Street Brewing Co., Watershed Brewing Company, War Horse Brewing Company, Willow Rock Brewing Company, and Fleur De Lis Brew Works. Live music will be provided by Steve MacLean, while Perfect Pair Eatery will handle catering for the event.

The fundraiser is sponsored by Beginnings Credit Union and will support the museum’s exhibits, educational programming, and other community initiatives.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Sails & Ales as a new way for the community to come together and support the Museum while activating the space along the Cayuga Seneca Canal,” Executive Director Andrew Olden said in a statement.

Tickets are $40 per person and include food and beverage samplings along with live entertainment. Proceeds will benefit the Seneca Falls Museum & Tourism Center and its efforts to preserve and share local history.

The Seneca Falls Museum & Tourism Center is home to the Seneca Museum of Waterways and Industry, which focuses on the history and impact of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal and local industry in the region.
