Canandaigua announces free summer concert and movie series at Outhouse Park

Summer nights in Canandaigua will once again come with live music, food trucks, and a movie under the stars as town officials roll out a slate of free community events at a popular lakeside park.

The Town of Canandaigua announced the return of its seasonal event series at Richard P. Outhouse Memorial Park, featuring three “Music in the Park” concerts and a family movie night later this summer.

The concert series will take place on select Wednesdays, beginning June 17 with a performance by 47 South Band. Additional shows are scheduled for July 15, featuring the Mike Yacci Trio Band, and August 19 with The Feed Back Band.

In addition to live music, the town has scheduled a family movie night on Friday, August 14, with a screening of “Zootopia 2” set to begin at dusk, around 8:15 p.m.

Food trucks will be on site for each event from 5:30 to 8 p.m., while live performances on concert nights will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Town officials say the series is designed to provide a relaxed, family-friendly setting for residents and visitors throughout the summer months.

“These events are a great opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy live music, local food, and time outdoors,” Parks and Recreation Director Greg Reynolds said.
