Offense came in waves and pitchers answered with complete efforts as Friday’s Wayne-Finger Lakes spring sports slate delivered across multiple fronts.
In girls lacrosse, Teagan Hudak and Baylee Vilord each scored five goals to power Palmyra-Macedon, while Bailey Cooper and Makenna Mullins led another strong outing for Penn Yan.
On the softball diamond, Lauren VanAllen tossed a complete game and contributed at the plate for Wayne, while Waterloo’s lineup erupted behind perfect days from Ava Panek and Gwen DiIorio. Mynderse stayed sharp with a four-hit game from Danielle McDermott and a steady outing from Haley Young, and North Rose-Wolcott got a 10-strikeout performance from Kaydence Dierksen.

Lauren VanAllen went the distance for the Eagles, striking out seven in a complete-game effort, while also adding two hits at the plate. Sam Taylor went 2-for-4 with a triple and drove in two runs, and Gianna DiPaul contributed two hits and two stolen bases. For the Reds, Sophia Delfs led the offense, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while Khloe Paul added two hits.

Gwen Panek led the Tigers with two hits, including a double and a triple, while scoring three times and reaching base four times. Ava Panek and Gwen DiIorio each went 3-for-3, combining for seven runs and four RBI as Waterloo showed strong plate discipline. Alexis Godley drove in three runs to support the offense. For the Red Raiders, Kerrigan Connolly collected three hits and two RBI, while Kaedence Andross added two doubles and Emma Cretelle chipped in two hits with a double.
