Historic Manchester caboose rolls back home

A 1942 rail relic just made its long-awaited return, according to Mike Murphy, as Lehigh Valley Railroad caboose No. 95019 rolled back into Manchester after years away.

Crews carefully moved the bright red caboose the final few inches into place, completing a meticulous relocation effort. The car once operated locally and now stands as a restored piece of the region’s rail history tied to the Lehigh Valley Railroad.

The return marks a full-circle moment for the community, which plans to preserve the caboose as a visible reminder of Manchester’s railroad past.
