Firth, Cascadden lead Cornell’s All-Ivy honors haul

Willem Firth was named Ivy League Attackman of the Year and Jack Cascadden earned Midfielder of the Year honors as Cornell men’s lacrosse team collected 10 All-Ivy selections following a 10-3 regular season and 5-1 conference mark, securing its fifth straight Ivy League title. The Big Red coaching staff was also recognized as Coaching Staff of the Year, capping a dominant season in Ithaca.

Firth and Cascadden were joined by Brendan Staub as unanimous First Team selections, highlighting Cornell’s presence at the top of the league. Firth led the Big Red offense with 43 goals and 68 points, ranking among the national leaders in both categories while driving the nation’s top man-up unit. Cascadden controlled possession throughout the season, winning faceoffs at a conference-best rate while collecting 66 ground balls.

Cornell added depth to its All-Ivy honors with four Second Team selections, including Ryan Goldstein, Matthew Tully, Matt Dooley and Eddie Rayhill. Goldstein formed a potent scoring duo with Firth, while Tully anchored the defense in goal with a sub-10 goals-against average. Three more players earned Honorable Mention recognition, underscoring the team’s balance across positions.

The Big Red finished among the nation’s leaders in multiple categories, including scoring defense, man-up efficiency and faceoff percentage, reinforcing their status as one of the Ivy League’s top programs.

Cornell returns to action in postseason play, hosting the Ivy League Tournament beginning Friday, May 1, at Schoellkopf Field as it looks to extend its successful season.
