Cornell men’s lacrosse Goldstein earns Ivy League Player of Week

Cornell University junior attackman Ryan Goldstein was named Ivy League Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday following his standout performance in the Big Red’s 11-9 win over Harvard University on Saturday at Schoellkopf Field, a victory that secured Cornell’s 34th Ivy League regular season championship. Goldstein’s seven-point effort proved pivotal in a game that saw Cornell rally and take control late.

Goldstein finished with four goals and three assists, driving the offense during critical stretches. With Cornell trailing 4-1 in the second quarter, he sparked a turnaround by scoring once and assisting on two more during a four-goal run that gave the Big Red a 5-4 lead at halftime. He later delivered the decisive moment in the fourth quarter, breaking a 9-9 tie with 3:35 remaining before assisting on an insurance goal that sealed the win.

The junior has been a consistent force for Cornell throughout the season, leading the team with 26 assists while ranking second with 30 goals. His production places him among the top playmakers in the Ivy League, sitting near the top of the conference in both assists and total points per game.

Cornell returns to action May 1 at Schoellkopf Field as it hosts the Ivy League Tournament, with game times to be announced as the Big Red looks to build on its regular season title.
