Runners circled Seneca Lake from sunrise to evening Sunday as one of the region’s largest endurance events returned, drawing hundreds of participants and crowning top relay teams across multiple divisions.
The annual Seneca7, a 77.7-mile team relay, featured more than 300 teams navigating a course that loops around the lake, with staggered starts beginning early in the morning in Geneva.
In the men’s division, team “All My Ladies” claimed first place with a time of 7:18:26, followed by “Eubalena Ruiz” in second at 7:58:29 and “Buffalo Father Figures” in third at 8:00:51.
The Cornell Running Club Women captured the top spot in the women’s division, finishing in 8:46:44. “Women of Oregon East” placed second with a time of 9:37:50, while “Seven Women Wonders of the World” finished third in 10:03:53.
In the mixed division, “Buzz Sting Em’” took first place with a time of 8:48:37. “TBDers” followed in second at 8:57:00, with “SYRious” rounding out the top three at 9:03:30.

The race began at the Geneva lakefront and sent runners down the west side of Seneca Lake along Route 14 before passing through Watkins Glen and heading north along the eastern shore back toward the finish.
Organizers had urged motorists to use caution throughout the day, as increased foot and vehicle traffic moved around the lake with the progression of the race. While some intersections were staffed by first responders, much of the course relied on volunteers to assist with runner exchanges and traffic flow.
Now in its 14th year, the Seneca7 continues to draw participants from across the region and beyond, blending competition with a daylong community event centered on teamwork and endurance.
