Brandon Beane says Bills ‘shut down’ trade calls for Keon Coleman

The Buffalo Bills are not wavering on Keon Coleman, rejecting trade interest and doubling down on their belief the wide receiver can break through in 2026.

Speculation intensified this offseason after owner Terry Pegula indicated the push to draft Coleman in 2024 came from former head coach Sean McDermott’s staff rather than general manager Brandon Beane. Despite that revelation, Beane said Buffalo never entertained moving the 23-year-old.

Speaking Monday morning on WGR 550 radio, Beane reinforced the team’s stance. “We shut those down,” Beane said. “Our intention is for Keon to be here, so the word was out, so no calls this weekend. We’ve hit the reset button with him and hopefully the fanbase and everyone is behind him. I think his best year is yet to come here in 2026.”

Teams reached out between the NFL Combine and league meetings to gauge Coleman’s availability, but the Bills declined to engage. The 33rd overall pick in 2024 showed early big-play ability, though his role shrank last season, including stretches as a healthy scratch.

Now entering Year 3 of his rookie contract, Coleman will look to reestablish himself in an offense guided by Joe Brady. The arrival of DJ Moore and rookie Skyler Bell adds competition, but also opportunity for Coleman to carve out a consistent role.
