A small town is racing to capture its present before sealing it away for the future, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Torrey leaders are collecting photos, records, and local memorabilia for a time capsule marking the town’s 175th anniversary. The capsule will stay sealed until 2051, when the community celebrates its 200th year.
Organizers want everything from business snapshots to farm history included, with a June 1 deadline to submit items. Plans for the burial site and a summer celebration are still underway as residents help preserve a snapshot of life today.
