Right-hander Nolan McLean is slated to start the first game for New York. The rookie has impressed early, compiling a 2.67 ERA across his first five outings. In his most recent appearance, McLean carried a perfect game into the sixth inning before settling for a no-decision, continuing a stretch of encouraging performances.
Kodai Senga will take the ball in Game 2, working on extended rest after the Mets adjusted their rotation. The right-hander has struggled in his last two starts, surrendering 13 earned runs, raising concerns about his recent form.
The postponement comes at a difficult time for New York, which has dropped 13 of its last 15 games.
