A Syracuse man is facing multiple felony charges after prosecutors say he broke into a home and threatened a resident with a weapon in Auburn.
Ishmael Thomas, 32, was indicted by a Cayuga County grand jury on charges of first-degree burglary and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Authorities allege Thomas unlawfully entered a residence and threatened an occupant with a hammer during the incident.
He is expected to be arraigned this week and is currently being held without bail.
If convicted, Thomas faces a potential sentence of up to 32 years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision.
