A Lyons man is facing a felony charge after deputies say he attempted to conceal drugs during a jail intake process.
Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 41-year-old Jason Caplinger following an investigation into an incident involving contraband inside a correctional facility.
Authorities allege Caplinger hid Suboxone, a controlled substance classified as dangerous contraband, inside his cheek during a medication pass. He later removed it in his cell and placed it in a cup, according to the report.
He has been charged with promoting prison contraband in the first degree.
Caplinger was scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court to answer the charge.
