Finger Lakes Community College’s logging teams opened their season with a strong showing, proving they could compete with four-year programs at the Spring Derby in Canandaigua.
The Lakers women’s team led the way with a second-place finish, while the men’s team added a third-place result in a competitive field.
FLCC’s open division team also contributed with a second-place finish, rounding out a successful day across all levels of competition.
Despite being the only two-year program in the field, the Lakers demonstrated depth and resilience throughout the event, competing effectively against larger schools.
The teams will next travel to SUNY Cobleskill as they continue their season.
