A major state investment is set to reshape the Village of Victor’s downtown, with local officials announcing a $4.5 million award through New York’s NY Forward program.
The funding, awarded through the Regional Economic Development Council and Empire State Development, will support efforts to create a more walkable, accessible, and vibrant downtown district.
Village officials said the award follows a competitive application process that included a finalist interview in December, with notification of the successful bid coming April 13. The proposal was developed in partnership with the Victor Local Development Corporation and shaped by extensive community input through the “Our Voice, Our Vision, Our Victor(y)” outreach initiative.
Mayor Sean McAdoo said the funding reflects strong collaboration between residents, local leaders, and state partners, and positions the village to advance a long-term vision for growth.
Local development leaders echoed that sentiment, calling the investment a turning point that will help accelerate projects aimed at improving accessibility, connectivity, and overall quality of life in the downtown area.
Officials said additional details on specific projects and timelines will be shared as the planning process moves forward.
