Bath man charged after threatening neighbors during dispute

A Bath man was arrested Sunday morning after police say he threatened his neighbors during a dispute.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Shannon Street around 6:59 a.m. on April 19 for a reported neighbor complaint. Police said it was reported that a man had threatened to shoot his neighbors over barking dogs.

The suspect was quickly located and identified as Rory G. Speer, 70, of Bath. He was taken into custody without incident.

Speer was charged with one count of menacing in the third degree, a Class B misdemeanor. He was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment.

Police said Speer was released prior to being booked under New York’s bail reform laws.
