A series of community conversations focused on improving communication and understanding across differences will take place in Newark this May.
The Newark Public Library will host three interactive sessions designed to help participants explore tools for engaging in meaningful dialogue, particularly in divided or challenging conversations.
The discussions are scheduled for May 2, May 9, and May 16, running from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the library, located at 121 High St. Attendees can participate in one or all of the sessions.
Organizers say the series will incorporate themes from “I Never Thought of It That Way” by Monica Guzmán, along with lessons rooted in Martin Luther King Jr.’s six principles of nonviolence. The goal is to create a space where participants can build communication skills while engaging with others in a constructive setting.
While RSVP is encouraged, it is not required. Those interested can contact the Newark Public Library directly by phone to reserve a spot or learn more.
