A Newark man is facing misdemeanor charges after police say he followed a victim across multiple towns and counties, prompting fears for their safety.
Jazavier A. Garcia, 25, was arrested March 15 following an investigation into a reported domestic incident that escalated beyond a single jurisdiction.
Police determined Garcia used his vehicle to follow the victim over a prolonged distance, ultimately continuing until reaching the victim’s final destination, where the situation raised concerns for personal safety.
Garcia was charged with one count of first-degree harassment and one count of third-degree stalking, both misdemeanors. He was processed and transported to the Seneca County Jail to await arraignment.
An order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim.
