A crumbling 1800s factory along a rushing waterway is turning into a brewery and restaurant, as Wheel Works Brewing Co. prepares to open this summer, according to the Democrat and Chronicle.
Owners Ken Johnson and Jeff Roberge are transforming the former wheel-making site into a space for craft beer, food, and community events. The duo, longtime homebrewers, built a following through competitions and now plan to scale up with lagers, pilsners, and stouts alongside casual favorites like burgers and pizza.
They’re betting the off-the-beaten-path location becomes a draw, with plans for outdoor games, live music, and gathering spaces — turning a once-forgotten building into a regional destination.
