Cayuga County tourism officials are now accepting applications for a grant program aimed at boosting events and programming that draw visitors and showcase the region’s history and culture.
The Tour Cayuga Tourism Support Grant, now in its fifth year, will provide up to $2,000 per award to support public-facing programs taking place between May 2026 and April 2027.
The funding is intended for activities, performances and events that promote Cayuga County as a destination while encouraging community pride and regional engagement. Officials say eligible programs should attract visitors from outside an organization’s immediate area and emphasize inclusivity in participation and planning.
Tour Cayuga Executive Director Courtney Kasper said the program helps expand tourism offerings while highlighting the county’s cultural and historical significance, including initiatives tied to Harriet Tubman’s legacy and upcoming milestones like America’s 250th anniversary and New York’s “Freedom 2027” commemoration.
In 2025, the grant supported 14 organizations, including local museums, cultural centers and community arts groups, which hosted a range of tourism-focused programming across the county.
Applications for the 2026 grant cycle are due by May 8. Officials say interested organizations can contact the Cayuga County Tourism Office with questions about eligibility or the application process.
