Three charged after altercation at Seneca Falls ‘No Kings’ protest

A protest in Seneca Falls last month turned physical, leading to charges against two adults and a minor after police say a dispute escalated into a confrontation that left an elderly woman pushed into the roadway.

The incident happened around 2:42 p.m. on March 28 during a “No Kings” protest on Fall Street, according to the Seneca Falls Police Department.

Police said a counter protester arrived at the scene and began agitating the crowd, prompting multiple protesters to engage in a physical altercation. During the confrontation, an elderly woman was pushed down onto the roadway.

Following an investigation that included witness interviews and review of video footage, officers charged Stacey J. Brown, 55, of Newark, and David C. Pell, 75, of Fayette, each with one count of disorderly conduct, a violation.

A minor was also charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree reckless endangerment. The individual’s name is being withheld due to their age.

Authorities said no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Police emphasized that violence at protest events will not be tolerated and said individuals who engage in such behavior will face charges. Officials added that maintaining public safety for residents and visitors remains a top priority.
