Prosecutors will split a high-profile homicide case into seven separate trials, according to Spectrum News 1, in the killing of Sam Nordquist. Authorities say the 24-year-old was tortured for weeks before his death in 2025.
The Ontario County District Attorney’s Office confirmed each suspect will be tried individually. Investigators allege Nordquist endured prolonged abuse at a lodge in Canandaigua before his body was later found in Yates County.
Seven people face charges, with initial court proceedings already underway. The first trial is scheduled for September as prosecutors prepare to handle each case separately.
