A Lyons man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he attacked two people with metal garden stakes and forced his way into a Wayne County home Sunday night.
State police said troopers responded to a reported burglary on State Route 14 in Lyons around 9:05 p.m., where they found evidence of a violent altercation involving two victims.
Investigators allege that Philip Galek, 33, struck a male victim multiple times outside the home with a metal stake, causing injuries before the victim fled inside. Authorities said Galek then broke through glass doors while still armed and continued the assault.
Police said Galek left the scene but returned shortly after, following both a male and female victim into a garage, where he allegedly struck them again with metal garden stakes.
Troopers arrived and took Galek into custody at the scene.
Both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Galek was charged with first- and second-degree burglary, as well as two counts of assault. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
