KEUKA PARK — A dominant stretch out of the bullpen has earned Keuka College freshman Brandon Wilson conference recognition after playing a key role in a pivotal week for the Wolves.
Wilson, a Victor native, was named Empire 8 Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday following a series of clutch relief appearances that helped Keuka secure three conference wins.
Wilson’s week began by slamming the door on a win at Utica University, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning with two strikeouts to earn the save. He followed that up with a standout performance Friday, entering in the ninth inning and holding the line through three extra frames without allowing a hit as the Wolves outlasted their opponent in 13 innings.
He capped the week with another three-inning relief effort, helping preserve a 5-4 victory over Houghton to complete a strong run of appearances.
On the season, Wilson has emerged as a reliable option out of the bullpen, appearing in 11 games — all in relief — and logging 25.2 innings. His three saves lead the team and are tied for the third-most in a single season in program history.
Keuka will step out of conference play this week, traveling to Hobart College on Tuesday before returning home to host RIT on Wednesday.
