Ex Waterloo official pleads in break-in case

A break-in at a town facility ended with a no-jail plea deal in Seneca County, according to the Finger Lakes Times. A former Waterloo official admitted to damaging property during the 2024 incident.

Bob Lotz pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal mischief, avoiding jail or probation. A judge granted a conditional discharge, meaning the conviction disappears if he stays out of trouble for a year.

Lotz also agreed to cooperate in the case against co-defendant Don Trout, who still faces felony burglary charges. The case stems from a break-in at the town Highway Department.
