Two physicians serving the Finger Lakes and Greater Rochester region have been recognized for their leadership and patient care as part of Rochester Regional Health’s annual Physician Excellence Awards.
The honors, presented each year around Doctor’s Day, celebrate physicians nominated by their peers for their commitment to teamwork, collaboration and high-quality care.
At Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, Dr. James Cullinan, chair of emergency medicine, was named the 2026 recipient of the Dr. John Davis Physician Excellence Award. Health system leaders said Cullinan is known for his leadership, mentorship and steady presence supporting emergency teams across multiple facilities.
At Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic, Dr. Timothy Malins, director of rural cardiology at the Sands Constellation Heart Institute, received the 2026 Dr. Henry Foster Physician Excellence Award. Officials credited Malins with expanding access to cardiac care in rural communities throughout the Finger Lakes.
Rochester Regional Health officials said both physicians exemplify the system’s mission, citing their dedication to patients and colleagues and their impact on communities across the region.
