Two physicians serving the Finger Lakes region are being recognized for their leadership and commitment to patient care, Rochester Regional Health announced this week.
Dr. James Cullinan, chair of emergency medicine at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, and Dr. Timothy Malins, director of rural cardiology at the RRH Sands Constellation Heart Institute, were named recipients of the system’s 2026 Physician Excellence Awards.
Cullinan received the Dr. John Davis Physician Excellence Award, which honors a physician known for leadership, mentorship and compassionate care. He supports emergency teams at both Newark-Wayne and Clifton Springs and is described by colleagues as a steady and trusted presence.
Malins was awarded the Dr. Henry Foster Physician Excellence Award, recognizing his work expanding access to cardiac care in rural communities. His efforts have focused on ensuring patients across the Finger Lakes can receive specialized heart care closer to home.
Hospital officials said both physicians exemplify the values of collaboration, dedication and patient-centered care that define the organization’s mission.
