New York lawmakers just bought themselves more time as budget talks drag on, according to Spectrum News 1.
Officials passed another budget extender, now running through April 14, to keep state operations funded past the missed April 1 deadline. It marks the fifth straight late budget under Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Negotiations remain stuck on key issues, including car insurance reform, climate policy changes and taxes. Lawmakers are expected to return to Albany next week as talks continue.
