After nearly three decades as a steady voice in local government, Dryden’s longtime town clerk is stepping down, according to The Tompkins Weekly.
Bambi Avery will retire April 30 after serving as clerk since 1998 and working in town government across four decades. Colleagues credit her with deep institutional knowledge and a commitment to helping residents navigate local issues.
Avery also served as president of the New York State Town Clerks Association, supporting clerks statewide. Town leaders say she leaves behind a strong office and a lasting legacy of public service.
