A landmark corner of the Ithaca Commons just changed hands in a $2 million deal, according to The Ithaca Voice.
The historic Griffin Block at 224 East State Street, home to Simeon’s Bistro, sold April 1 to a Massachusetts-based buyer tied to local investor Steven Wells. The 1872 building has long stood as a centerpiece of downtown Ithaca.
The property blends history with modern use, featuring a restaurant and five apartments after a major rebuild following a deadly 2014 crash. The sale marks another shift in ownership for one of the city’s most recognizable buildings.
