CANANDAIGUA — Finger Lakes Community College will host a free public webinar this month aimed at helping participants better understand and use chatbot technology in everyday life.
The webinar, titled “Chatbots: What They Are, How to Use Them, and How to Make Them,” is scheduled for noon on Tuesday, April 14, and will be held virtually via Zoom.
The session will be led by Dave Ghidu, an associate professor of computing sciences at FLCC, who will walk attendees through the fundamentals of chatbot technology. The presentation will include real-world examples, demonstrations of how chatbots are used in daily workflows, and a step-by-step overview of how to build a basic chatbot from scratch.
Organizers say the session is designed for a broad audience, with no prior experience in artificial intelligence required.
The webinar is part of the FLX AI Hub, an initiative launched by the college to help individuals and organizations better understand and apply artificial intelligence tools. Additional programming tied to the initiative includes a May 12 webinar focused on generative AI and a full-day, in-person conference scheduled for June 10.
College officials say the effort is aimed at making AI more accessible and practical for workers and community members navigating rapid changes in technology.
