The Village of Newark announced two new hires for municipal positions, including a code enforcement officer and a wastewater treatment plant trainee.
David LaDuque will serve as code enforcement officer, while Chris Carmestro joins the wastewater treatment plant as an operator trainee.
LaDuque brings experience in property management, construction and fire service to the role.
Carmestro has experience maintaining equipment used in daily wastewater plant operations and knowledge of confined space work.
Mayor Jonathan Taylor said both hires will support village operations.
“We are happy to welcome Dave to the position of Code Enforcement Officer. His background as a builder will be an asset to the team,” Taylor said.

“We are excited to welcome Chris to the Wastewater Treatment Plant and are confident he will be a valuable asset to the team,” Taylor said.
Joe Vanni, a code officer, said LaDuque has already made an impression in the office.
“Dave has brought a very bright personality to the office and is eager to learn his position. He is excited to affect change in the community to make it a safe and clean place to live,” Vanni said.
Former Chief Operator John Reynolds said Carmestro’s experience will benefit plant staff.
“Chris brings his experience and knowledge to the plant and will be a great benefit to the staff,” Reynolds said.
