A maritime history program will take place April 8 in Pultneyville, focusing on shipwrecks in Lake Ontario.
Ben Ioset, a maritime archaeologist, will present findings from a recent expedition during the event hosted by the Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society.
The program is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Gates Hall on Lake Road and is free to attend.
Ioset will discuss discoveries from a May 2025 expedition conducted with NOAA and partners at the Ocean Exploration Cooperative Institute.
The survey documented multiple well-preserved shipwrecks dating from 1816 to 1927 within the Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary.
Organizers said the presentation will cover expedition objectives and highlight several shipwrecks explored.
