The New York Yankees continued their dominant start to the season, defeating the San Francisco Giants 3-0 on Friday afternoon behind another standout pitching performance and timely power.
Cam Schlittler led the way in his first start of 2026, allowing just one hit over 5.1 scoreless innings while striking out eight. The right-hander kept San Francisco off balance throughout, generating 13 whiffs and retiring four straight batters via strikeout at one point. His lone blemish came on a second-inning double, as he finished with 68 pitches in a controlled outing.
New York’s offense broke through in the sixth inning against left-hander Robbie Ray. Paul Goldschmidt led off with a double before Aaron Judge delivered a 405-foot home run to left field, giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead. Giancarlo Stanton followed later in the inning with a 414-foot solo shot, marking the 60th time Judge and Stanton have homered in the same game.
Stanton finished 2-for-4, while Judge went 1-for-4 with the home run after striking out four times in the season opener.
The bullpen preserved the shutout as Fernando Cruz, Tim Hill, Camilo Doval and David Bednar combined for 3.2 hitless innings, allowing just two walks while striking out five. Through two games, Yankees pitching has yet to allow a run and has surrendered only four hits.
The Yankees will wrap up their series in San Francisco on Saturday at 7:15 p.m., with Will Warren set to face Tyler Mahle.
