Newark wastewater chief to retire after 40 years

The Village of Newark announced the retirement of its wastewater treatment plant chief operator, effective March 27. John Reynolds will step down after four decades of service.

Reynolds spent 40 years working for the village and played a key role in managing its wastewater facilities, including overseeing a major expansion and upgrade project.

Village officials said the upgrades helped ensure the plant can meet the needs of residents and businesses into the future.

Reynolds also served as a member of the Newark Fire Department during his time with the village.

“John has been a knowledgeable and dedicated employee throughout his career, never hesitating to come in off hours, if needed, and always making sure that the plant remains reliable for the residents and businesses of the Village,” said Mayor Jonathan Taylor.
