A high-energy staff basketball game turned into real help for local families, according to The Times of Wayne County. The Wayne Central School District raised $2,601 during its annual Wayne Cares event.
Staff took the court while students stepped in as coaches and referees. Families packed the gym, and crowd members joined in games between quarters.
Organizers used raffles and donations to fund support for students and families in need across the district.
