A routine roadside warning turned violent fast, leaving a Wayne County man with a broken ankle, according to WHAM.
Investigators say 32-year-old Joseph Lee Blair III, a delivery driver, faces a felony assault charge after the February incident in Marion. Court papers show the victim stopped to warn about a van blocking Route 21 when the suspect allegedly punched the car window, then attacked the man after he got out.
Authorities say the suspect knocked the victim down and repeatedly struck his head before driving away. With help from the driver’s employer, police later identified and arrested him. He’s no longer delivering packages.
