F.F. Thompson Hospital will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 17 to launch a new hospitality cart program for pediatric patients and their families.
The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. in the hospital cafeteria at the Constellation Center for Health and Healing in Canandaigua.
The program, called the Thompson Trolley, is a partnership between F.F. Thompson Hospital and Ronald McDonald House Rochester.
The cart will provide snacks, refreshments, toys and other items to children receiving treatment at the hospital and to their families during appointments or hospital visits.
Organizers said the initiative expands Ronald McDonald House Rochester’s hospitality cart program into Ontario County and marks the organization’s first program outside Monroe County.
The cart will be based in the hospital’s emergency department, which treated about 3,100 pediatric patients in 2025, and will also visit the Surgical Care Center and Birthing Center.
Leaders from Thompson Health and Ronald McDonald House Rochester are expected to attend the event, along with family members connected to the “Mighty for Madison” organization, which is providing toys and books for the cart.
