Wayne County killer’s parole moved to Erie after public backlash

A convicted killer will no longer be paroled in Wayne County after intense public backlash, according to Spectrum News.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says Chad Campbell will instead be released in Erie County. Officials said the change followed overwhelming public outcry from residents after plans surfaced to place him in the town of Ontario.

Campbell was 14 when he stabbed his classmate Cindy Lewis, 15, and 17-month-old Curtis Rizzo in Palmyra in 1990. He received a sentence of 18 years to life and could be released as early as March 12 after several earlier parole denials.
