A long-vacant Auburn property could soon see new life as a lumberyard. Builder’s Choice Lumber Company wants to build a new facility at 30 Cottage St., according to The Citizen.
The Auburn Planning Board began reviewing the proposal this week. The plan includes a 3,500-square-foot office and showroom plus three open-air lumber sheds. The company bought the 3.6-acre property for $295,000 in 2024 and already receives rail deliveries there through a spur installed by Finger Lakes Railway.
Owner Chris Geherin said the move would consolidate operations now split across several sites. The board tabled the plan until April 7 while city staff continue reviewing details like truck traffic and site access.
