A Corning woman turned her front yard into a small food pantry to help neighbors facing food insecurity, according to WETM.
Grace Heffner-Sharpe recently set up the pantry outside her home on Bailey Creek Road in South Corning. The pantry offers free nonperishable food, hygiene items, cleaning supplies and other essentials, available to anyone who needs them.
Heffner-Sharpe asks visitors to take only what they need and encourages donations to keep supplies stocked. She said the effort aims to ease pressure on local food banks while inspiring others in the community to lend a helping hand.
