Major projects and cross-county partnerships are reshaping economic growth across the Southern Tier, according to Tompkins Weekly.
Leaders at the Tompkins Chamber Economic Summit highlighted collaboration on projects such as rural broadband expansion, startup support and Ithaca’s $38 million SouthWorks redevelopment. Officials said regional groups, state agencies and universities increasingly work together to secure funding and grow industries like agriculture and technology.
Speakers also pointed to the coming $100 billion Micron semiconductor project in central New York as a long-term economic driver expected to bring thousands of jobs and ripple effects across nearby communities.
