Freeville residents can now call or text their village clerk directly for help with local issues, according to The Tompkins Weekly.
Village Clerk Julia Wallace now carries a dedicated cell phone so residents can reach her more easily, especially outside limited office hours. The new number allows people to ask questions, request services, file complaints or seek help with taxes, permits and other village matters.
Officials said the change aims to improve communication since village offices are only open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 to 11 a.m. Wallace said she monitors the phone daily and will respond as soon as possible.
