A new membership-based boating program is launching on Canandaigua Lake, offering access to a fleet of boats without requiring ownership.
Canandaigua Boatworks announced the launch of a Carefree Boat Club location at its marina, giving members a country club-style boating experience on the lake.
The program allows members to reserve boats and arrive at the dock ready to go while staff handle launching, docking, cleaning and maintenance.
“This is boating the way it was always meant to be,” said Richard Lynch of Canandaigua Boatworks. “We wanted to remove every barrier that keeps people from enjoying the water.”
Members will also receive reciprocal access to Carefree Boat Club locations across North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Only 25 memberships will be available initially, according to the announcement.
The program is based at Canandaigua Boatworks, a marina on Canandaigua Lake that offers boat sales, rentals, storage and service.
