Investigators said sheriff’s deputies opened an investigation in February into allegations that Jones was unlawfully in possession of contraband while incarcerated at the Cayuga County Jail.

Based on the investigation and evidence gathered, deputies arrested Jones on the charge.

He was issued an appearance ticket to Sennett Town Court, where he was arraigned.

Jones remains held at the Cayuga County Jail on unrelated charges.
