Early morning travelers will soon see more options on the departures board, according to 14850.com.
Tompkins County officials say United Airlines will launch a third daily flight between Ithaca Tompkins International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport starting March 5. The airline briefly ran three daily flights last fall but paused after about a month. Airport Director Roxan Noble says this time the added service should last through early June.
Officials say the extra flights boost access to United’s Dulles hub and hundreds of connections. A federal Small Community Air Service Development grant supports the route. Travelers heading into D.C. can also hop on the Silver Line Metro from inside Dulles and reach downtown in under an hour.
